Turkey Day

We went to Houston for Thanksgiving. We arrived Wednesday and were able to eat lunch at Pappasito's(a Poe family favorite) with my parents, grandparents and Kellee and Anthony.

After lunch, we headed over to the Reaves where we hung out with Bob and Narcessa and the cousins. The kids seem to really enjoy being together. Barrett had a blast wearing an old dirtbike helmet of Bob's and pretending to be Speed Racer.

On Turkey day, Derek and I met Kellee and Anthony to go downtown for the Turkey Trot run. Kellee and I ran the 10K and were cheered on by our wonderful husbands. It was a little hot and humid, but we finished with a pretty good time. It was so nice to have someone to run and talk with.

After a Starbuck's stop, we went back to the Reaves to get ready for the big meal. Derek's sister, brother and sis-in-law and kids came over. We had a nice time of visiting, laughing, and the kids played nonstop the entire day. Barrett and Brooklyn sure do love their cousins. Of course, we ate so much food. We also exchanged Christmas presents with Rich, Leigh and the girls and that was a fun time. The kids also enjoyed hanging out with Aunt Michel, Grandbob and Grandmom. And, Barrett was especially happy to have a leaf pile to jump in over and over again.

On Friday, I did brave the crowds for a little bit of shopping before we came back to Austin. There is something about being out with all of the people that gets you in the Christmas spirit. We had a great visit to Houston! Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, and this is ia picture of of the Barbie cruise ship. Brooklyn kept holding it us and carrying it around saying it was Kellee and Anthony- how cute!

Thanksgiving Feast!

Barrett and Brooklyn had their Thanksgiving program and feast at their school last week. The kids sang several songs. For some reason, Barrett decided to sit down in the middle of the program. Brooklyn seemed to have fun, but seemed a little unsure of the whole thing. Of course, when we got home, Barrett and Brooklyn both sang all of the songs, with the motions, at the top of their lungs. We had a feast after the program and enjoyed lunch together. It was also fun seeing the kids play with their friends. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hanging with Cousins!

Earlier this week Suzy, my sis-in-law and the 3 kids(Shaelyn, Jackson and Hallie) came to visit us. Barrett and Brooklyn loved playing with their cousins. There was lots of laughing, playing and fun times together. I, of course had a great time talking with Suzy and was so glad her and the kids came to see us. We hung out, the kids played outside, went to Zilker Park ,and ate out(a little wild with the 4 kids running around). Hallie is the sweetest little baby and is always smiling. It was a fun time with all of the Poe's and we look forward to seeing them again soon.

4 and a half

Today our little guy turns 4 and 1/2! Happy 1/2 birthday Barrett! We love you!!
We celebrated with a dinner of Barrett's choice- pancakes, bacon and "brown" (chocolate) donuts. We also played memory after dinner. Barrett's cousins were here today too, so it made his day extra special. He had a great time playing with them.

And Happy Birthday to Uncle Rich today and Aunt Suzy tomorrow!

A Nice Visit

Yesterday, Derek's dad, Bob and Derek's Uncle Dennis came to town for a brief visit. Dennis lives in Colorado and was in Houstin visiting the Reaves. We hadn't seen him since last Christmas, so it was fun to see him and catch up. We went to lunch and then watched the kids play while we talked. The kids had fun too hanging out with Grandbob and Uncle Dennis.
Thanks for coming to see us.Dennis and BrooklynDennis and Barrett

Trip to the big "D"

This past weekend we headed to Dallas to see Kellee and Anthony. It was our first time to see their new home. It is beautiful and suits them perfectly. Barrett enjoyed going up and down their 3 flights of stairs! We had a great time hanging out with them. They are great hosts and Kellee cooked us some delicious meals. We got to eat at a few neat places and heard some live music. We also went to the park and their church. We had a nice time talking and laughing with them. It was a nice weekend. And, the kids slept almost the whole way home. They were exhausted from their busy weekend. What a great time!
