Loosing teeth

Barrett lost his first tooth on Sunday night.  He had tried to get some legos apart with his tooth and it made his tooth loose.  He wiggled it and wiggled it. Later that night, he let Derek pull it out.  He woke up in the middle of the night and remembered to look under his pillow to see that the Tooth fairy had come.  When I went to wake him up he was holding the money in his hand!  Too cute! He was so excited to go to school and tell everyone he had lost his tooth.  He got to get his name on the tooth chart and got a certificate from his teacher! Such an exciting event!!!

Preschool has begun

Brooklyn had her first day of preschool today.  She woke up excited and ready to go to school.
Of course, today is was raining cats and dogs when it was time to leave for school, so we were a little late and a little frazzled(me, not her).  But, lots of others were late too. She was a little hesitant to go in, since we didn't make it to Meet the Teacher.  But, then she saw the babies and all was good.

She is going 2 days again this year and some of her classmates from last year are in her class. Brooklyn's favorite things today were painting and playing in the home center. She had a great day and already made some new friends. She said she already loves her teachers. And, I agree that they seem great!  We are looking forward to another fun year.  After school we went to Chick-fil-a for ice cream for a first day treat!
As for me, I worked out, ate lunch with Derek and got a pedicure.  I think I am going enjoy the time she is at school almost as much as Brooklyn.!

Blog Revamp

So, I'd like to come up with a different name for my blog.  It was 2 Busy B's for a while, now the Reaves family. Anyone have an good ideas?  I write about family life and my kids alot but sometimes about things here in Austin and then just random thoughts of mine.

Also, I'd like a new background, any good tips of sites/people?

always, sometimes, never

I Always...

want to travel
need my coffee in the morning
drink lots of water
love foot rubs
listen to music when I run
love Mexican food
kiss and hug my kids goodnight
lick the bowl when I'm baking
enjoy looking for new recipes to try

I Sometimes...

spend too much time on the internet
sing and dance around like a crazy person with my kids

wonder what it would be like to be in a musical
need a little time to myself
bite my fingernails
(but very rarely) watch or read the news

I Never...

use shaving cream when I shave
like being sick
have eaten something chocolate that I didn't like
pet a dog unless its an absolute must
have broken a bone
drink milk- gag!

What about you?

Spoken from the Heart

Spoken from the Heart

I recently read the Laura Bush autobiography, Spoken from the heart.  My mom gave me the book and I kept looking at it and not picking it up.  But, I finally read it.  It was interesting.  I especially liked the early years of Laura's life- growing up, teaching, meeting George, and the early political career of GW.  It was neat because parts took place in Austin when we lived here.  Some of the presidential years recaps were a little boring. This post isn't really about this book as much as the book being a reminder to me that I really like biographies.  You learn so much! I don't even read nonfiction that much. So, I am hoping to expand my reading a bit.
I am looking for some biographies to read. Please, let me know of any good ones you have read.
