Happy Half

Today our sweet boy is 5 1/2. He has grown up so much since starting Kindergarten. He is learning new things all of the time. We are so proud of him. Here are a few of Barrett's favorites:

Song: Party in the USA
Show: Bakugan
Food: Pizza
Sports team: Longhorns
Game: Hi Ho Cheerio
Thing about school: running the track
Toy: Legos
Sport: football and all the other ones too
What he wants to be when he grows up: UT football player and policeman

And here are some pics of his breakfast of powdered donuts. He chose P.Terry's for dinner, so that's what we'll do tonight.

San Antonio

This weekend we went to San Antonio. Derek and I ran in the Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon. We enjoyed seeing the Alamo and walking along the Riverwalk . Barrett loved the Alamo the most. He thought it was cool to learn about the battle and hear about William Barret Travis(where we got his name from). He also liked seeing all of the guns, bullets and knives. We ate some yummy Mexican food for lunch on the River Walk and enjoyed seeing the sights of San Antonio. We met up with Bob, Derek's dad, and went to the Alamodome to get our race stuff. We stayed with Derek's aunt Shirley and the kids enjoyed getting know her. After a big pasta dinner on Saturday night, we got a game plan for race day. Derek and I had a fun race. I had been having shin problems for a few weeks, but I got a brace(real cute) and it helped out during the run. There were lots of fans to cheer us on, so it was very motivating. It was nice weather for the run and an enjoyable day for us all. Thanks GrandBob and Shirley for watching the kids while we ran and Shirley for letting us stay with you.

Halloween 2009

Ready to go trick-or-treating
Our little bumblebee
Our awesome quarterback, Colt McCoy
We had a wonderful Halloween. Derek came home from his long trip to Asia on Saturday and we were all so excited to have him home. Barrett was Colt McCoy and Brooklyn went as a bumblebee this year for Halloween. We went trick or treating with our friends, the Walkers. All of the kids were excited. Barrett and Tate discovered they could cover more ground and get more candy the faster they went, so they were off and running. We've got so much candy at our house right now!! It was a wonderful night with our friends.

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!

Barrett & Brooklyn are super excited about Halloween this year. We have a fun week of Halloween celebrations. Barrett is Colt McCoy(the UT Longhorns quarterback) and Brooklyn is still deciding between a bumble bee and a UT cheerleader. We are looking forward to trick or treating this evening and getting even more candy and treats.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

We went to a pumpkin patch near our house the other day. The kids enjoyed picking out pumpkins and running through the hay maze. Its always fun to see all of the different kinds of pumpkins and squash. It was a fun fall day for us to spend together. Next up pumpkin carving.
