Spring Time!

I love spring time. We have been busy around our house planting flowers and plants. I love to go to the garden store and pick out plants for our flower beds. Though, I am not so good on the actual planting and upkeep of it all. The kids love to ride in the wagon at the garden store and look at the plants too. Derek was gone this week, so we decided to paint some pots and get flowers to go inside them. The kids had a messy, fun time painting the pots and then planting their flowers- pink for Brooklyn and blue for Barrett. We also like to eat most of our meals outside on our patio this time of year. We had been noticing a bird that was interested in a planter we have and kindof being protective of it. Well, the bird was protecting her babies. We have been watching the mommy get worms for her babies. They are so cute. I could not get a good picture, but we think it is so neat to see and hear the baby birds. We also discovered some dewberries growing in the front yard. I took this picture before Barrett ate all of them. Hopefully more will grow soon.

20 months

Well, our little girl is now in her 20's- months that is. She is turning into a little girl instead of a baby so quickly. She has always been a GREAT eater, but I am afraid that she is starting to get picky and is preferring snacky foods and disliking foods with certain textures. Bummer! She loves her babies and often has one with her wherever we go. She likes to rock and feed them. She likes to dress up and read books too. She still think that Barrett is the coolest thing ever. She has a pretty cheesiest grin and loves to laugh. I have just recently attempted to put her hair in pig tails. I thought she looked so cute and like such a little girl. Here are some recent pictures of her.

7 random things

1. I have never broken a bone, but I sprained my ankle once when I landed wrong from a cheerleading stunt.
2. I prefer to eat ice cream and cereal out of a cup instead of a bowl.
3. I prefer to drink Dr. Pepper out of a can, usually one that has been in the freezer for a few minutes first, and will not drink it out of a plastic bottle. I usually only drink fountain DP with vanilla in it at Sonic.
4. While I like my home to be picked up and everything is usually in its place(unless you just drop in), my closet is often a disaster! That is the place where I just throw my clothes, shoes, purses and whatever else. Please don't ask to see it.
5. I got my belly button pierced in college and did not take it out till I was a few months pregnant with Barrett.
6. I am older than Derek. And both my sisters, mom, and grandmother are all older than their spouses.
7. I love to watch Bravo- Project Runway, Top Chef, Real Housewives. And I do consistently watch Keeping Up with the Kardashians on E and General Hospital.

Ok, so I tag- Kellee, Kara, Suzy, Whitney, Laura, Beth H., and Leigh

Baby! Baby!

Proud Big Sister Elizabeth and Peyton

We went to Waco for a bit to meet my new nephew Peyton. He is so cute! And he seems like a really good baby. We went to the hospital right when we go to Waco. Barrett was excited to meet Peyton, but he really lit up when he saw his Elizabeth. He held Peyton for a few minutes and unfortunately he had to sneeze right when he was holding him and sneezed all over him. Kara and Shane were laid back about it. Welcome to a world full of germs I guess.

After the kids ran up and down the hall a few times and we started getting looks, we decided to take the kids to Shane and Kara's. I watched the kids as they rode bikes, snacked, ran around, played and played(with every single toy in the house) and just a good ole time enjoying being together. Poor Brooklyn was always a step or two behind Barrett and Elizabeth. I was glad my mom was there to help out with the wildness.

Kara got to come home Friday morning, so we got to spend lots of time with her, Shane and Peyton before we headed back to Austin Friday afternoon. We just love our new little nephew/cousin. He is so cute and Kara and Shane seem so happy. Elizabeth is such a proud big sister. Can't wait to see them again soon.

The Happy Visit

Barrett went to the dentist for the first time today. It is called a "happy visit" since it is really to just get him familiar with the dentist and to not be afraid when they do more extensive work later on. We sat down with the hygienist and she is like" Oh my, he has a cavity. Do you see it?" I look in Barrett's mouth and there is a huge black spot on one of his molars. I am thinking-"How have I not seen this before." Well, the dentist comes in and starts looking and feeling and it turns out it was some leftover raisin from earlier. Thank goodness. So, no cavities to report. The dentist cleaned his teeth and Barrett had a hard time staying still and trying to keep the light out of his eyes. Barrett enjoyed going to the dentist and getting his teeth checked out and cleaned. Of course, he did ask the dentist if they had lollipops. And of course they did not. Barrett did tell me it was fun and he wants to go back.
