I love to read. Ever since I can remember, it has been one of my favorite things to do. I love getting lost in a good book. I remember reading my first chapter books and then moving up to romance novels and other fictional books. I even stuck books inside my textbooks in jr. high and high school and read while I should have been listening in class. So, here are some of my favorites. The first 3 books are books I read in jr. high. I don't know if it is the memory of how much I liked the book or that the characters were so memorable to me or what, but it is hard to beat those books that I still. Anne of Green Gables-I remember reading Anne of Green Gables and laughing out loud. I love that book and the characters too(and I also read all the other books in the series too). I sometimes really hate when a book ends and I just want to keep finding out what happens with the characters. It was the first book I really remember loving. Another book is To Kill A Mockingbird. It is just a really good read. And, Gone With the Wind. I couldn't put that book down. I loved Scarlett and the romance of the book. Another favorite is a book I I read in college, The Notebook. I couldn't stop reading or stop crying as I was reading it. It was such a touching story. OK, so one more, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I really love all her books, but this one was the first I read of hers and it was amazing!! So, I'd love to hear what your favorite books are. Please share and I can add them to my list of books to read.

I am right there with you on ALL of those books! Kindred spirits for sure.
Remember when we just read books the last year we went to Encounter!?!
I also like to read James Patterson books. Very suspensful and full of lots of twists and turns. I am just getting into the Women's Murder Club series. I read the 2nd one this weekend.
Kim-
LOVE the Nicholas Sparks books (The Notebook)I've read all of his. And all of the James Patterson books. I also love the Women's Murder Club series. (read in order)He is fantastic!! Also I love Carol Higgins Clark, she is great, but go in order. I love her books because you keep moving on with the characters. So you never wonder what happened to them. I get mine at the library when I take the kids each week.

I also love Nicholas Sparks and The Notebook is by far my favorite of his. I actually have Redeeming Love on my nightstand waiting to be read!
Anthony is reading Blue Like Jazz and I really want to read it when he's done. You can borrow our copy if you want to read it.
You mean you don't want to read anymore of Karen Kingsbury's books?
Those are all some of my favorite books too! I saw that there is another Gone With the Wind book out recently called Rhett Butler's People. I think its his story before he meets Scarlett. I'm curious if it is any good.
The James Patterson books are great too. Very addicting!
I just finished Ken Follett's Pillars of Fire.
Oh my goodness. It was so good!
I did not want to finsh it!
And it was so different from the books I've read.
I got Mallory hooked on the Francine River's Trilogy. They are my favorite.
Julie Mitchen
I too love the Nicholas Sparks books (it's obviously a woman thing!) If you haven't read it, pick up one of his more recent ones "Dear John"- I got it for Christmas & really enjoyed it! Very easy reading, but hard to put down!
I am a huge reader. I recently finished The Glass Castle and it was incredible! I also LOVED A Thousand Splendid Suns and Nineteen Minutes.
I will definitely need to read Gone with the Wind.
Maeve Binchy is one of my favorite writers. Her books are stories about lives and relationships and have surprising twists and turns. The first book of hers that I read was "Circle of Friends," which was made into a movie with Minnie Driver and Chris O'Donnell (the book was better).
Setting Limits with Your Strong Willed Child
I loved all those books too. A few years ago I read Francine River's "Mark of the Lion" Trilogy and it was amazing.
And I am one of those Harry Potter fanatics I'm afraid. There just great books.
Admittedly, I read bubble-gum-for the-mind-books. But one of my favorites is Janet Evanovich - especially her Plum series. They are great laugh-out-loud books!
I love Anne! I haven't read the follow-up books, but my boosom friend Annie has. ;) I must say, I like John Grisham... something about suspense gets me. I'm currently reading "Slighly Bad Girls of the Bible." I need to add your books to my list as well though... keep sharing any good reads you have.
Hi. I am a book girl, too. I loved the Other Boleyn Girl and The Kite Runner. They are both books I would not have chosen except for recommendations, and I literally could not put them down. I am reading Water For Elephants, and it is great, too!
