Barrett's 8th birthday

Barrett turned 8 on May 19.  Its hard to believe he's had another birthday. Derek and I were in Houston on Friday night,so Barrett and Brooklyn spent the night with our friends, the Beard's.  They went to Tutti Fruitti for a pre-birthday treat.  On Saturday, we all met up at the swim meet and Barrett got to swim his first meet of the year on his birthday.  After the meet, we went to P. Terry's for lunch.
We gave Barrett his present before the party. He got a new BMX bike.  I don't know who likes it more- Barrett or Derek.

Barrett has been wanting a sleepover for his party.  So, we had 7 boys come over to celebrate.
Barrett had the whole agenda set out.  Everyone arrived and we headed to the field near our house to play a game of wiffle ball. Everyone worked up quite a sweat playing the game.

After the ball game, we went back to the house and the boys played in the yard and had dinner.
Then we set up the water slide and the boys spend a few hours playing on the slides, shooting water guns and having a water balloon fight. Barrett is a sweet brother and even let Brooklyn hang out and play.

After that, we sang Happy Birthday and had cake and opened presents. Barrett wanted a cake with the Miami Heat symbol in the middle.

The boys played some more and then got settled in to watch a movie.  Most of the kids fell asleep during the movie, but a few finally went to bed a little after midnight.

The boys were up a little after 6. I fed them breakfast  and kept them in until 7,then they headed outside to play wall ball and play another baseball game in the backyard until is was time to go.

Barrett said he had a great time and it was just what he wanted.  Which, is just what we want too! Happy Birthday buddy!  We love you!

Happy birthday, Barrett! What a great party that sounds like it was perfectly planned for all things that he loves.

It looks like you had a great time at the party. You're such a great party planner and a good mom, too! And how sweet of Barrett to include Brooklyn in everything. It makes me think of how you always wanted an older brother. Brooklyn is so lucky to have him! Great pics, too!
