Fairy Tale Program, spring Program

The 2nd grade at Barrett's school had a musical last month. It was a fairy tale musical and it was really cute.  The kids sang and had a fun time.  Barrett had a hard time deciding which character to be, but decided on the Tin Man.  It was hard to come up with how to make the costume, but we managed to figure something out.

Brooklyn also had a program.  They sang a few songs.  It was sweet.  Its hard to believe Brooklyn has just a few weeks left of preschool.

Saying Goodbye

Our dog, Jett, passed away last week.  It was very sudden.  He wouldn't walk on Wednesday and died on Thursday.  He had a huge tumor in his intestines.  So, anyways, it was a hard week here at our house.
We got Jett 9 years ago.  Derek researched the specific kind of hunting dog he wanted and found Jett in North Dakota.  He was trained for bird hunting and Derek and Jett spend many hours hunting together through the years.
The kids really loved Jett and enjoyed throwing the ball and chasing him. We also took Jett on lots of hikes along the greenbelt.  He would run off and liked scaring everyone by going up these tall cliffs.  He loved running and exploring. Derek buried Jett and we made a memorial for him.  The kids said sweet things about Jett.

We will all miss Jett.

Easter

We went to my parents for the Easter weekend.  It was a fun,relaxing time for us all.

Spring Break

We had a great time during spring break.  We slept in, relaxed and had lots of fun. We went down to the creek several times. The kids enjoyed swimming and hiking.

Derek and I got to go out a few times.  With SXSW going on, we got to listen to lots of good music.

We went to Dallas the last weekend of spring break.  We spent part of the time with Kellee, Anthony and Olivia.  We ate at some yummy places and enjoyed going to the Dallas Arboretum.

We met up with the Walker's too.  We stayed at the Embassy Suites and the kids loved going crazy in the hotel- riding the elevators, terrorizing the swans, swimming and using the luggage cart as their car. We spent some time at the park, playing baseball and exploring.

It was great to see the Walker's and we all had a fun time together.
