I love this guy!! its hard to believe that he goes to first grade in less than 2 weeks.  We went on a date to Shipley's and had a nice time chatting and eating some yummy donuts!! He's an awesome kid and fun to be around!

Blue Bell

Brooklyn and I met GrandBob and Barrett in Brenham last week to pick Barrett up.  We went on a tour of the Blue Bell Factory.  It is by far our favorite ice cream and it was fun to see how it is made and of course sample some ice cream.

Last week Barrett was in Houston visiting Grandbob and Grandmom. He had a great time and did many fun things.  He also got to hang with his cousins alot too.  Derek was out of town too!  So, Brooklyn and I had some girl time.  She went to VBS at her preschool in the mornings and then we did some of her favorite things...

We also watched some movies, shopped, went on walks, ate out at a "fancy place".  I had a fun time hanging with my girl!!

Galveston

We took a spur of the moment trip to Galveston last weekend.  Kara and Shane and the kids had rented a house for the week with Shane's family and they were leaving for the weekend, so we were invited down.  We had a fabulous time.  I love the beach and it is fun to see my kids enjoy it too. It was so relaxing and peaceful to be at the beach. We played and played and ate and ate!!The kids had a blast playing with Elizabeth and Peyton too.  I have so many happy beach memories and I am happy that we live close to the coast so we can go each year!

On the Lake

We've been wanting to rent a boat this summer and finally did it.  It was so much fun. This was the first time for the kids to be on a ski boat.  Barrett loved riding on the tube and going fast in the boat.  Brooklyn's favorite thing was jumping off the boat and swimming.  She was not a huge fan of the tube.  I got to ski some too.  It had been a few years since I skied and Derek did good at driving the boat and I got up fine.  It was a blast.  I drove the boat, which I don't think I've ever done, for Derek to ski.  He got up inspite of my jerky, crazy driving.  Good thing it wasn't crowded on the lake.  We all had a great time together and I was reminded again just how much fun being on the lake is.  After our time on the boat, we ate at one of our family faves, The Iguana Grill.  We were all tired after our day on the lake, but it we are all ready to do it again!!

Flag football camp

Barrett went to flag football camp this week and he had a blast!!  He thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it.  He learned alot and especially liked scoring a few touchdowns.  It rained one day off and on and he loved playing football in the rain.

Legos! Legos! Legos!

Barrett loves Legos and so when we heard that a Lego store was opening in the mall, Barrett was really excited!  Well, the store opened up and of course we had to go on the first day.  They had this station where kids could make a watermelon with Legos.  B loved it and Brooklyn had fun,  but she just decided to make her own design.  Then we looked around the store. The kids each put together people.  Barrett enjoyed filling up a bucket with whatever Legos he wanted.  And, he used some of his money to buy a fuel truck. Brooklyn got a zoo set and they are both enjoying playing with their Legos.  I see many more trips to the Lego store in our future!
