- We had a great weekend being with family and celebrating Easter. My parents came up on Friday afternoon and we went to eat at Trattoria Lisina. We love eating there and it was a wonderful meal. We also walked around the Mandola Winery there. It is so pretty out there. And, the kids had to throw lots of coins into the fountain- that's their favorite thing to do out there.
On Saturday, we took the morning easy and relaxed over coffee and brunch. Then we headed out to take the kids pictures in the bluebonnets. They cooperated well and we got some good shots. I am loving all of the bluebonnets out this year. They are everywhere and look so pretty! I love bluebonnets!
We also had a great game of baseball. We all got involved in the game. Barrett really enjoys stealing the bases and sliding into home! Brooklyn liked running from first base to home, every time. It was a beautiful day! And, we also went to show Nana and Teddy Barrett's school. The kids played and Derek got to shoot some hoops. We dyed eggs for the egg hunt. The kids liked making designs and mixing all of the colors up. We finished the day off with a steak dinner and relaxing conversation.Sunday, the Easter Bunny came. The kids enjoyed opening their baskets and checking out the goodies and candy. We went to church and had a great morning of worship. Kurt and Suzy and the kids came to church with us too. We all went back to our house for lunch. After a relaxing lunch, the kids did an egg hunt. Shaelyn got the most, but all of the kids did a great job looking for the eggs. There were alot to find! Brooklyn found 2 golden eggs, so she did really well in the cash department. After the egg hunt, the kids and even some of us, got involved in throwing confetti eggs. The kids loved smashing the eggs on everyones heads. We made a huge mess in the backyard.
Nana and Teddy headed back to Houston and the rest of us went to the UT scrimmage. We all had a fun time. Brooklyn and Shaelyn loved watching the cheerleaders while the boys were all about the game. It was a fun afternoon and a great way to see some longhorn football!
Oh, we did have an interesting conversation. We were discussing what the Easter Bunny looked like. Derek and my dad have always thought of the EB as a regular little bunny that brings the goodies. My mom and I always thought of him as a tall bunny, like 5 feet or so, that hops on 2 feet, like at the mall. I assumed thats what everyone thought. So, what does your Easter Bunny look like?

I'm with you...definitely a 5 foot tall bunny. He has alot of ground to cover with all of the houses, and it would take a little bunny much too long. (-:
I'm with you too...big bunny that hops on two feet (kind of a little freaky if you think about it). ha! also, love your easter dress--i have it too! :)
Of course the Easter bunny is 5' tall and hops on two feet!
Big bunny (of course the girls are right! HA!) and great bluebonnet pictures!!!
