Bluebonnets

We took some pictures in the bluebonnets a few weeks ago. I love this Texas tradition! Though, I didn't really like it as a kid when I was having to do it!

Easter Weekend

HAPPY EASTER!

Most of my family came to Austin(minus Kurt, Suzy and the kids and plus Joyce a student at Baylor)this weekend to spend time together and celebrate Easter. Everyone arrived on Friday and we ate dinner together at home. It is always fun for everyone to hang out together.
On Saturday, we had a big brunch then the kids dyed eggs, decorated cookies and had an egg hunt. We also celebrated Peyton's first birthday with cupcakes and presents. We were eating sugar all day! To get out of the house for a bit, we decided to go to the capital. It had been a few years since we had been there. It was sprinkling when we got there, but it cleared up outside. It was fun to walk around the building and grounds. We saw a girl getting her wedding pictures taken and Brooklyn was very intrigued by her and kept saying she was getting married in a fancy dress too someday. After our time at the capital, we went home and relaxed before a yummy dinner at Rudy's.

Sunday, the Easter bunny came and brought goodies for the kids. They were excited! We all went to church and it was an amazing service. What an amazing thing that Jesus did for all of us! We are so loved! After church, we ate lunch at home with the family and our friends, the Heaths. It was nice to sit around the table visiting together. After yummy desserts, we went outside and the kids did confetti eggs. Brooklyn was so cute- she pushed the tissue open and scattered the confetti around. The boys were throwing the eggs right at each other and had a blast with the eggs.Easter basketsB with his lootBrooklyn and her princess wandMy sweetiesDerek and sweet BrooklynOur family on EasterB with Kellee and AnthonyTeddy and the kidsThe gang!Nana and Teddy and the grand kidsMe and Derek

Most everyone left in the afternoon after lunch. The Masters tournament was on so Derek, Anthony and Barrett watched it while all the girls took naps. Kellee and Anthony left in the evening after the masters. It was a fun time with everyone and we were so glad to have a house full of guests. What a great weekend!

Haircut Day!

Today I took Brooklyn to get her first haircut. I have trimmed it once or twice, but her hair really needed to be cut. I took her to Liz, the girl that cuts my hair. Liz is great!! Brooklyn was a little wiggly, but did pretty well. She even got her hair styled. She had fun checking her self out in the mirror after her cut. Brooklyn says she looks beautiful! I think so too. Barrett got a cut as well since we were there. Hopefully this is the only time we see him in leopard print!

Shopping at the mall

Yesterday I had to go to the mall. This is a place I usually avoid with kids. After hitting the places I needed to go, we went into Pottery Barn kids and then the Children's Place for the kids to play and look around. I was on the phone while I let the kids play at the Children's Place, and I was kindof browsing around. Well, I go to get the kids signaling it is time to go, I find Barrett and get him and can't find Brooklyn. He says he doesn't know where she is. So, I get off the phone and begin my search. I was near the entrance, so I know she hasn't left the store, but can't see her anywhere. So, I come upon this pile of pink shorts, then I see her. She has her socks, shoes, and pants off! And, she has a pile of clothes beside her. I see a worker heading over to Brooklyn as I am going over to her. I am sure she is wondering where the kids mom is. And there is Brooklyn, pulling on these pink shorts! Thank goodness the worker didn't notice Brooklyn's very saggy diaper! I was so embarrassed that my kid was on the floor, trying on the clothes! But, at least I have a girl who likes to shop!
