Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!

Barrett & Brooklyn are super excited about Halloween this year. We have a fun week of Halloween celebrations. Barrett is Colt McCoy(the UT Longhorns quarterback) and Brooklyn is still deciding between a bumble bee and a UT cheerleader. We are looking forward to trick or treating this evening and getting even more candy and treats.

Pumpkin Patch Fun

We went to a pumpkin patch near our house the other day. The kids enjoyed picking out pumpkins and running through the hay maze. Its always fun to see all of the different kinds of pumpkins and squash. It was a fun fall day for us to spend together. Next up pumpkin carving.

Derek was gone last week, so the kids and I headed down to Houston for the weekend. We got to hang with my parents and Kurt, Suzy and the kids. We were able to see Grandbob and Grandmom too for a bit. We had a great time. We spend most of Saturday with Suzy and the kids at a park. It was beautiful and the kids had a blast. The story of Jonah

The other day Brooklyn was teaching us a lesson on Jonah and this how she told the story.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Jonah. And guess what? Jonah was in the fish because he made God mad. So he was inside the belly of the fish and Scooby-Doo came to the rescue. He saved the day and saved Jonah. And Jonah gave him a scooby snack for helping him. The end!

Ginger house

Brooklyn has been asking to make a ginger house for the past few months and the other day I found a Halloween gingerbread house. The kids were so excited to make it and decorate it. Of course, they really liked eating the candy. Fun times!

Weekend in Scottsdale

Derek and I just got back from a long weekend in Arizona. We had a great time together. The weather was awesome! We spent time hiking up Camelback Mountain, relaxing at the pool, getting massages, shopping, eating terrific food, laughing and talking. We also went to the Texans-Cardinals game. We sat in a suite with some of Derek's customers and had a great time watching the game. We thought the Texans might win, but it just didn't happen. We always enjoy getting away together and I am so glad we got the chance.

Kellee& Anthony came to visit this weekend. They got here on Friday and we hung out and visited late into the night. Saturday, we took it easy and then went to lunch at Hut's. Then Derek and I were off to the Austin City Limits Music festival . We had never been before and it was a great time of listening to the music, hanging with friends and having some good food and drinks. It rained alot of the time, but we were prepared with our raincoats and umbrella. There was a lot of mud near the end of the evening. The rain stopped around 7 and we got to listen to DMB without all of our gear on. AMD (where Derek works) sponsored a stage there and it was great because we got to go hang out in the VIP area . There was free food, drinks, tents to sit under and most importantly nice bathrooms. We got to listen to several bands and enjoyed all of the music we heard. We got up early for church on Sunday and then ate at Chez Zee for brunch and then Kellee & Anthony went to ACL. A fun and tiring weekend.
